Chinese American Student Association (Position: External Vice President)
The Chinese American Student Association (CASA) at the University of Florida strives to celebrate and raise awareness about Chinese and Chinese-American culture in the Gator Nation and the Gainesville community. Our arms are open to members of all races and ethnicities. CASA is guided by its overarching pillars of culture, service, and leadership. As a “for student, by student” organization, we want to enhance your college experience through activities such as dance, sports, volunteering or event planning, and help you build your foundation as a student leader. Above all, we will help you find a home and family. CASA’s logo is the Chinese character for “home/family” (家). CASA establishes itself as a home away from home for its members by fostering relationships among the members through camping trips, after socials, and the “Gege-Jiejie-Didi-Meimei” big-little pairing program. Asian Pacific Islander American Affairs (Position: Senior Ambassador)
Asian Pacific Islander American Affairs (APIA) aims to promote a more critical understanding of APIA issues and identity while advocating for the needs of APIA community. By focusing on leadership development, providing educational dialogue focused on the complex heritage of Asian Pacific Islander Americans, and being a voice for the APIA community at UF, APIA Affairs will empower its community members to take a more active role in shaping their experiences at the University of Florida and beyond. Phi Sigma Pi National Co-Ed Honors Fraternity
Phi Sigma Pi is a co-ed honorary fraternity based on a tripod of Scholarship, Leadership, and Fellowship. Today more then ever before, Phi Sigma Pi is an essential and useful part of the college experience. It includes every field of higher education without emphasizing any particular field of study. The co-educational national honor fraternity recognizes outstanding scholarship and leadership and promotes fellowship among its members.
Asian Kaleidoscope Month (Position: Promotions Committee)
For the past 20 years, the Asian American Student Union has proudly presented Asian Kaleidoscope Month–a month-long celebration of the histories, cultures, and contributions of Asians and Asian Americans. From mid-October to mid-November, AKM reaches out to the University of Florida and the Gainesville community through innovative and entertaining programming, lectures, panels, and workshops.
Asian Kaleidoscope Month has hosted many prominent Asian and Asian American speakers in the past, including Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, Betty Nguyen, CNN correspondent, and Suchin Pak, MTV host. Also, past entertainers include Quest Crew and Poreotics from MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and YouTube sensations Gabe Bondoc and Clara C. It is our goal that through these speakers and events, we will educate and bring awareness of the vast culture and heritage of Asians and Asian Americans.
Health Educated Asian Leaders (Position: Sports Coordinator)
Health Educated Asian Leaders is an organization of students representing various health related fields at the University of Florida. Our goal is to unite and build a network of diverse students with similar interests and career goals. As an organization geared solely to address the concerns and interests of our members, we welcome all interested individuals to get involved.
East Coast Asian American Student Union Conference (Scholarship Recipient)
The East Coast Asian American Student Union (ECAASU) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to inspire, educate, and empower those interested in Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) issues. Run solely by volunteers, ECAASU’s advocacy work is conducted through outreach to AAPI students organizations across the country and educating individuals on becoming agents of change through the various programs we hold over the course of the year, including an annual conference.
As of 2013, ECAASU is one of the most preeminent collegiate student organizations in the world. ECAASU has hosted 39 conferences and our 36 years of consecutive growth has pushed ECAASU to higher limits than ever before. The organization’s membership is primarily composed of universities from the eastern United States while its annual conferences draw students and activists from across the country.
University of Florida International Initiative Team Culture and Language Program (Position: Program Coordinator, and Creator)
The Cultural and Language Partner Program helps provide continuous one-on one peer support for international and domestic students. We focus on promoting social connection and cross-cultural understanding of international students and domestic students. The program also aims to support international students to, adjust to new culture, familiarize students with the US education and academic system, and help create support system away from home.
Besides providing international student benefits, we also aim to help domestic student by, enhance cross-cultural understanding, communication skills, and increase social connections.

University of Floirda Martin Luther King Jr Celebration Committee
Gathered to promote social justice, create unity, and give back to the community in remembrance of the history of the Civil Rights Movement.
The UF MLK Celebration is held every year during the month of January at the University of Florida. By celebrating the values of this momentous occasion, we will educate both students and the community about the importance of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
